Brian Buckner

Director of Agronomy

Brian is a lifelong Texan, born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley, where his passion for the game of golf began. Deep South Texas was also where he met his amazing wife, Rachel. Rachel and Brian have a 21-year-old son and a 17-year-old daughter who have kept them busy over the years. Brian's career as a Golf Course Superintendent began a little more than 20 years ago, with all 20 years spent in the Houston area. His most recent position was the Director of Agronomy at Bentwater Yacht and Country Club, managing 54 holes of high-end private courses. Prior to that he was the Director of Agronomy here at the Golf Club of Houston for 7 years. During those years, he was fortunate to play a very big part in the planning and conditioning of four PGA TOUR Houston Open Tournaments. He loves his job and is constantly working to provide the best golfing conditions possible. Outside of work, Brian enjoys boating, fishing, hiking, golfing, and spending time with his family.
